Meet Your Nurses
Meet your school nurses:
Linda Berg, RN, BSN, Licensed School Nurse
Linda was reading Matthew 25:31-46 when she was in High School and working as a nursing assistant. She felt the Lord calling her to be a nurse; to help the hungry, the thirsty, the sick, and the imprisoned. Since graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison she has worked in hospitals, home care, as a nurse educator and for a medical device company. After being at home with her children for several years, she felt God calling her again to return to her profession. She became a Licensed School Nurse in 2006 and has been at St. Ambrose since the 2006-07 school year. She and her husband have 2 sons. In her free time, she enjoys working out, singing on worship team, reading Christian fiction, Bible study, mentoring inmates in Bible study, knitting, and playing 500 in a card club (which includes the Huffmans).
Janice Huffman, RN, Health Care Specialist
Janice graduated from Clemson University and has worked in 5 hospitals, 3 of them children’s hospitals. She has worked in pediatric IV, surgical and medical units and neonatal ICU. She has also worked in adult medicine. When her children were small, Janice was a substitute school nurse. She came to work as a school nurse at St. Ambrose in 2011. She has been a Ski Patroller since 1998 and has served at Afton Alps since 2001. She and her husband have 2 children that are recent graduates from college. In her free time, Janice enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, skiing, various house projects, travel, and a 500 card club (which includes the Bergs).
A little known trivia:
Both Linda and Janice are married to retired Navy Officers, both of whom served on submarines.
